Did you make some goals that you wish you hadn’t given up on? If you are like most people, you likely abandoned those goals within the first few weeks of setting them.

Step 1: Make Your Goals Known

Tell someone close to you about your goal. Of better yet, tell lots of people. Tell your Facebook friends, or set-up a blog where you track your progress, and so can the world. This helps to hold you accountable for your success or lack thereof. Plus, you’ll feel more resolve to actually complete the goal than if you were to simply keep the goal to yourself.

Dream building is vitally important to your goal setting process and personal development. Without a dream you can’t imagine an existence any greater than the one you are living right now!

Dreams are a tool to help us navigate through life. They are that lighthouse upon the distant shore that we seek in the sometimes dark times of life.

As that famous Bible saying goes, “Without a dream people perish.” As they crash their ship upon the rocky storms in life their dreams of a better future perish.

They float through life letting one wave push them here and another wave push them there.

Daniel Rudy Ruettiger lives a life without limits. Just how far Rudy is willing to go to reach for his dreams and the best in himself is demonstrated in the 1993 inspirational film based on his life titled Rudy.

Rudy gave an electrifying speech at a business training event we attended last month in Las Vegas last month. We had the privilege of meeting him after his speech. I was grateful that my teenage son was able to learn from him.
