Change Your Focus and Experience a Rebirth of Your Soul

Boy with Butterfly

I’ve written before about regret; those momentary feelings of loss, disappointment, or dissatisfaction with something in our life. I would warrant that all of us have experienced some type of regret in our life. Something we wished we had done differently, or perhaps not have done at all.

It’s my belief that those who say they don’t have any regrets don’t mean they haven’t ever had any. What they mean is that they changed their focus, or their outlook about the specific circumstances. They learned from it, and they turned it into a positive.

Changing one’s focus or keeping one’s focus on what is important is the key to recovery from illness, trauma, or depression, and it is a key to achieving happiness. Focusing on regrets, focusing on what’s not working in our life leads to depression.

My mom always said,  “Anyone can think themselves into a depression.”  She’s right.  Everyone has had things happen to them, or has done things that could get them down. But focusing on the past, focusing on our failings doesn’t help at all.

Choosing to focus on our short-comings, or negative experiences can lead a happy person to a state of depression. Read the rest of this entry »

What Do You Really Want?

Running Down the Road to SuccessI still struggle with what I want to be when I grow up. You see I want to do everything and be everything.

I want to be an artist. I want to be a life-coach. I want to be an inspiring mom. I want to be a healer. I want to be an art-therapist. I want to be a successful business women. I want to be a multi-millionaire. I want to be an author. I want to make a difference in the lives of others.

I want, I want, I want…

Well I want it all.

The amazing thing is that I am doing all those things. Sure maybe not to the level I plan on doing them. But I am doing them. How you may wonder? How can I do all that and more?

Grow Your Income By Growing You

“Your income can only grow to the extent you do.”

A success quote from: T. Harv Eker
Source: Secrets of the Millionaire Mind

Continual learning is a key to success. After all, the more you learn, the more likely you are to come up with solutions that work for you and your business.  You’ll be more likely to improve your productivity because you’ll be working smarter, not harder.

Continual learning is a key to keeping your thoughts fresh, and your mind sharp and stimulated.  The result is often better business decisions, better financial decisions, and the ability to see problems before they arise.

So ask yourself these questions:

  • What are you doing to grow?
  • What are you doing to expand your thinking?
  • How much time are you spending each day learning?
  • Who are you seeking to learn from?
  • Are you spending more time watching soap operas, or other people live their lives, or are you spending time learning and creating a better life for yourself?

Action Steps:

  • Begin reading a new book on a topic that can get you a closer to your goal.
  • Write down one thing you learn from that book today and take steps to implementing it in your life.

Prosperity Principles: The Power of Giving

Posted by Leisa Watkins On January - 23 - 2009 2 COMMENTS

Those of you who knew me in the past may find the title of this post ironic. You see, until recently, I had struggled financially most of my life. I struggled because of my “lack mentality.”

This lack mentality affected my ability to attract wealth because I didn’t give enough away. It’s not because I am selfish. I have always been very, very giving of my time and other resources. It was (again) because of fear. Fear of what the future may hold. Fear that there wouldn’t be enough.

Because I lacked the faith, because I didn’t believe, because I chose to buy into the concept of lack, there wasn’t enough. There is plenty of evidence at work in peoples lives that this is true.

I now choose to believe in the power of giving, rather than fear. To believe in prosperity, rather than lack.

I was delighted today to stumble upon a website titled The Power of Giving. I’d like to invite you to visit it and take a look around. You’ll find resources on philanthropy, tithing, the law of attraction, charity and more.

Then give some money away. Go ahead, do it right now get out your check book, or open your PayPal account. Write out a check to your church, your favorite non-profit organization, or someone in need.

Believe. Act. Give.

Handling Paper Work – Solutions for the Paper Challenged

Posted by Leisa Watkins On January - 22 - 2009 ADD COMMENTS

Buried in PaperworkPaper – it seems to multiply faster than bunnies. The other day I noticed a paper sitting on the table in the living room. Two days later I returned and found that the single piece of paper had turned into a stack of papers.

The paper had multiplied faster than any bunnies I’ve ever heard of, and I found it happening all over the house. The bunnies, I mean the papers, were breeding so quickly, and had quickly gotten out of control.

Most of you are probably thinking – “Papers, what do you mean papers?” That’s probably because you are not paper challenged like I am.

Organizing paper clutter has to be my  biggest organization challenge. You try having young kids, operating a couple of home based businesses, teach three different  grades of school (we  home-school), and be a paper artist, and see how quickly you acquire a ton or two. There seems to be papers everywhere – and at least several tons living in my house. And I regularly (I promise) put a lot of paper in the recycling bin.

However, I found several solutions for handling all that paper work.  It works perfectly, when I do.  (Now, if I could find one that worked perfectly when I don’t. Hmm – perhaps an administrative assistant.)

So here are my solutions for getting out from organizing the paperwork and getting out from under the stacks of paper.
